PRESTIGIOUS POKER PLAYERS

The Poker Hall of Fame is a list of the most important players in Poker’s history. It was created in 1979 and it’s found in Las Vegas. These are some of its most significant inductees:

Dole Brunson
Dole Brunson

He is known as Texas Dolly and he’s regarded as the “Godfather of Poker”. He was born in 1933 and still plays competitively today. He co-authored Super System which is considered poker’s bible and is responsible for revolutionizing the game. He was the first person to make $1million in competitions and with 10 WSOP bracelets he’s tied in second place for overall bracelets.

Stu Ungar

Stu Ungar won his first gin rummy competition when he was 10 years old. He then switched to Blackjack but after australia online casino barred him he took up Poker. He was a maths genius and had an uncanny talent for reading opponents. In 1980 he was the youngest person to win the WSOP Main Event and he’s regarded as the best ever No Limit Hold’em player. Phillip Hellmuth is a professional player who was born in Wisconsin in 1964. He’s one of the world’s greatest players and with 13 WSOP bracelets he holds the title for most bracelet wins. He‘s written bestselling books including Play Poker like the Pros and Phil Hellmuth’s Texas Hold’E,  but he’s more recognized for his disrespectful outbursts during games which have earned him the title Poker Brat.

Phil Ivey, 37, is too young to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame but he’s regarded as the world’s greatest all-round Poker player. He’s versatile, plays aggressively and has 9 WSOP bracelets. Ivey learned the basics of the game at the age of 8 and one of his nicknames is The Tiger Woods of Poker.
